Keynote Speech: Answers at the Point of Need: Bringing Content to Life

Bill Detmer is a physician who has devoted his career to medical informatics. He spent the early 1990’s as an Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine at University of California, San Francisco and published research studies into the then-novel use of computers in clinical medicine. This led him to the position of Vice President, Clinical Information Products in the early days of Ovid Technologies.

In 1999, Bill founded Unbound Medicine to deliver clinical medical content through innovative knowledge architecture and efficient publishing systems, starting with Web-based solutions and expanding to mobile as technologies have developed.

Bill’s experience as a user, researcher, aggregator, and architect of clinical information provides him with a unique perspective on the challenge of delivering highly valued content to users.
